On August 4, the Tainan District Prosecutors Office charged 53 suspects in connection with illegal dumping of hazardous waste in seven different areas around the Tainan metropolitan area.  Those charged are alleged to have made around NTD$570,000,000 (USD$19,000,000) from this illegal and dangerous activity.
